Player of the Match: Mia
In a tough day at the office Chelsea FC Blenheim travelled North to face Peterborough in the National Football Youth League League cup second round.
The game started well, with Chelsea FC Blenheim enjoying the lions share of the possession, moving the ball well to try and break down an organised and physical
Peterborough FC.
However, it was the hosts who opened the scoring, with a long ball causing confusion in the Chelsea FC Blenheim defence that allowed the Peterborough striker to smash the ball home. This goal put Chelsea FC Blenheim in the back foot, a position they failed to recover from.
The long ball and physical presence was a constant threat and Peterborough scored twice more to take a 3-0 lead into half time.
With some tactical changes Chelsea FC Blenheim tried to claw their way back into the game. Chasing the game left the away side vulnerable to the already dangerous long ball. Peterborough capitalised and scored a further 3 goals to win the tie comfortably 6-0.
A performance to reflect on as the academy side are back in league action next week v Bromley FC.
