NATIONAL FOOTBALL YOUTH LEAGUE

CHELSEA FC BLENHEIM ACADEMY 3 v 1 ARSENAL FC

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: MIA

In a grandstand start to the game Chelsea FC Blenheim immediately ‘suffocated’ Arsenal with a high press and an outstanding amount of effort. Chances were created from the start, both the post and cross bar after just ten minutes. It was captain Matilda who opened the scoring with a composed finish in a hectic penalty area after a corner was not cleared by Arsenal. The high pressure was preventing Arsenal play and it was a deserved second goal for Chelsea FC Blenheim as Dior scored after a mazy run through midfield. Arsenal did score just before the break, not a great time to concede but a character building moment.

The goal just before the break could have created doubt, but this was certainly not the case.

Chelsea FC Blenheim produced another outstanding 45 minutes, controlling the game, creating chances and limiting the visitors to two half chances. Mia scored the crucial third goal to secure all three points as the Chelsea FC Blenheim calmly played out the remainder of the match.

An outstanding performance and a deserved win.
