National Football Youth League - Premier division
With 8 debuts it was exciting to see how the Chelsea Football Education would begin their season against a strong Bournemouth side.
With 30 seconds gone Bournemouth took the lead and, in truth, it was an uphill battle for the young Chelsea FCF Blenheim team. The game settled down after the early goal, with both teams looking to seize control of the game in midfield.
The game stayed at 1-0 as the first half finished, with both sides having chances to add to the score.
The second half started as the first had finished, with Bournemouth looking to expose the wide areas and Chelsea FCF Blenheim trying to play through their technical midfield.
In a flurry of action Chelsea FC Blenheim spurned a good chance and Bournemouth played a long ball over the top to score again. This unsettled the away side and Bournemouth scored another 2 goals to take the game away from Chelsea FC Blenheim. Credit with true grit and resilience the team dusted themselves of and continued to tray and play their football, with the reward of a debut goal for Dior.
Next week the Academy team travel to champions Sudbury and the development team start their season against BCA Maidenhead in the ECFA league.
